StopNut – Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how StopNut ("we," "our," or "the App") handles your data. StopNut is designed with a privacy-first, local-first philosophy to help you build discipline and track habits securely.

1. Information We Collect

• Account Information: StopNut uses Firebase Authentication (Google Sign-In) to manage your premium status and basic profile. We receive your name and email address for account identification.
• Usage Metadata: We may collect anonymized usage statistics (e.g., app opens, feature engagement) via Firebase Analytics to improve the app.

2. Data Retention

We retain your data for the following periods:

• Local Data (habit logs, streak history, journal entries): Stored on your device indefinitely until you choose to delete them, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the application. We have no access to this data.
• Account Profile (name, email): Retained in Firebase for as long as your account is active. Upon a deletion request, your account data is permanently removed within 30 days.
• Purchase Verification Token: Retained for as long as your Pro subscription is active. Removed upon cancellation or account deletion.
• Anonymized Analytics: Retained for up to 14 months per Google Analytics default retention policy, after which it is automatically deleted.

3. Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time using the following methods:

• Delete individual entries: Open StopNut and use the in-app delete option on any log or journal entry to permanently remove it from your device.
• Delete all local data: Go to your Android Settings → Apps → StopNut → Storage → Clear Storage. This permanently removes all locally stored app data. Uninstalling the app achieves the same result.
• Delete your account (Firebase profile & purchase records): Send an email to funroboticshere@gmail.com with the subject "StopNut Account Deletion Request" and include your account email address. We will permanently delete your data within 30 days and send you a confirmation.

4. Third-Party Services

StopNut integrates the following services:

• Firebase (Google): For Authentication and anonymized Analytics.
• Google Play Billing: For processing Pro feature purchases. We do not handle or store your payment details.

5. Disclaimers

StopNut is a tool for personal growth and habit tracking. It is not a substitute for professional medical or psychiatric advice. We are not liable for data loss due to device failure or accidental deletion, as no cloud backups are currently provided.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy occasionally. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
